About / The person behind the perspective

I like building things.
I also know when
to stop.

I’m Pavitra. I’ve spent years turning ideas into products—and I’ve stopped two of my own before launch. Villain’s Hat came out of both.

2Products I chose to stop before launch

“It works” can be true.
And still not be enough.

I’ve worked across finance, consultancy, energy, entertainment and aerospace. I know the pressure to ship, move a metric and make the business case work.

But a successful interaction does not tell you the whole story. Who benefits? Who gets left out? What happens when someone arrives with a very different intention?

Those questions became impossible to ignore when I started asking them about my own products.

I wanted these to exist.
Then I looked closer.

01 / Roastfluencer

Funny, until it wasn’t.

An AI roast generator: upload a photo, get a joke. The idea worked. But I could also picture a group of children using someone else’s photo to make bullying faster and easier.

Being technically functional did not answer the question I cared about. I decided not to launch it.

02 / echonote

A message worth waiting for.
Or one you never wanted.

After losing my mother, I wanted a way for people to leave messages for loved ones far into the future. It was personal. I built guardrails and tested scenarios.

Then I considered how scheduled messages could be used for harassment or coercion. The same words can mean something very different depending on who sends them. I stopped that product too.

The decision behind the featureDoes the recipient have a meaningful choice?
01 / Respect the builder

You have a real business to run.

A useful finding should help you make a decision. An endless list of hypothetical disasters doesn’t do that.

02 / Follow the person

The AI didn’t set its own brief.

People choose the goal, access and acceptable outcome. That is where I want us to look.

03 / Ask earlier

Leave room to change your mind.

I want these conversations to happen while an idea is still an idea—not after an incident forces the issue.

Have an idea you can’t quite stop questioning?

Tell me about it. You don’t need a polished brief, just a decision you want to look at differently.
